Darrell Tall (born July 8th, 1987) aka D. Tall, is an American rapper and record producer. Acclaimed primarily for his skill as a lyricist, the charismatic "She Hard to Miss" story teller gained his first taste of notable mainstream success as a burgeoning producer, eventually achieving recognition for his work with Dipset member J.R. Writer in 2005.Darrell was born in Dayton, Ohio where he lived until the age of nineteen. Being very adamant about taking the college route, Tall's mother did not concur with his dreams of rapping and producing at a young age. Tall satisfied the pleas of his mother immediately after high school, attending the University of Akron on the outskirts of Cleveland. However, he found himself concentrating other things such as girls and his notoriety as an Emcee rather than the curriculum.During his short stay in college, Tall was given the opportunity to be the opening act for Gucci Mane and Juelz Santana to name a few. Nevertheless, he grew tired of the see-saw battle with mom and other family members and friends who didn’t support his music. Tall knew it was time to make a move and that the biggest risk was not to take one. He decided to move to Texas in 2005 which had a much bigger market for music. At the time D.Tall was a 19yr old who began putting all of himself into his music full-time, and his resolve was swift. Having been familiar with the booming music scene in Houston at the time Tall saw nothing but opportunity. However, he chose Dallas over Houston because he was more familiar with the city from visiting with his grandfather in Oakcliff, TX every summer growing up. "There was nothing really going on for me, opportunity-wise back in Ohio. I felt like, if I wanted to break loose I needed to be in a music hotbed. I chose Dallas which at the time hadn’t really made a huge mark in the music industry nationally."With new surroundings and new energy, it didn't take long for the Midwest-bred rapper to make a name for himself. In 2007 Tall’s mixtape record “show em” was on the home town show down on K104fm for 4 days consecutively. The next year he won the Friday night freestyle battle 4 weeks straight on 97.9 the beat. From forsaken college student to Smack DVD heavyweight, D. Tall is now hailed as one of the most influential rappers in Dallas and one of the city's fastest rising emcees. D.Tall currently has a song called “She Hard to Miss” featuring Fat B that has racked up over 15,000 downloads in the 1st month. Five vicious years and a beautiful daughter. Earlier this year, d.tall met dallas own definition dj stevie dee to help with his career. With his new team, d.tall is on his way to stardom & nothing is going to stop him to the top.
